A Historic Race 1 ️
Yes, it's the very first edition of the race this year 🎂. What better way to make history? Get your legs ready to set records ⏱️, or just have fun, but in general, the first time is something to celebrate. In addition, the place is totally unusual, it is an appointment not to be missed. And then no excuses, you have a hell of a choice of distances, so you will necessarily be satisfied 😌.
Pink in the middle of nature 🌸
Running around a “pink lake” is quite rare, but not for salt marshes. Here, they cover the Peccais marsh, south-east of the village, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. A saltwater is an installation that makes it possible to collect fleur de sel from seawater. When water 💦 enters a pool, the sun ☀️ and the wind will cause the water to evaporate, increasing the salt concentration. And from pool to pool, water saturates 🛑 and salt forms a hole at the bottom of the basin. But Jamy, so why are the salt flats pink if the salt is white ⚪️? In these pools, there are microscopic algae that are rich in natural dye, which gives them that very special color 💖.
The city is historic ⛴️
Did you know that? In 1240, Louis IX, the creator of the city, created the port ⚓️ of Aigues-Mortes, which was the very first port in the Kingdom of France 🇫🇷 on the Mediterranean. It made it possible to open the Kingdom, on this sea in the south of France. And for nearly two centuries, it was the only French trading port. But even more, in 1266, he decided to build ramparts 🏗️ all around the city, which have now become unmissable.
The South of France 🌻
A short weekend in the South is never to be refused. With the beach, the landscapes and the villages 🏘️ to visit, you are planning a busy weekend, for a race that you will not forget 🧠. Closer to south-east France, you will have the right to the sun, and to a good mood 😁 that goes with it, frankly, it's beautiful isn't it? Oh yes salty (it is) 😉.
An original fauna 🦆
Even if you don't think about it, these saline lands are home to many species. During your run, you will visit almost the entire site 🗺️, and you will be able to see a large number of animals. Since they are fashion fans 💄, pink flamingos will necessarily be there, matching the color of the water. And these salt flats are the first reserve of pink flamingos in Europe! 🦩 You will also have lots of species of waterbirds, such as ducks or moorhens, just about everywhere!
