A guaranteed change of scenery 😎
In the heart of Gard, you will tread the typical paths of the region in a natural and protected territory, never far from Roman remains. Your race will also be an opportunity to discover typical villages that will make you take a leap in history and feel Roman for a few hours. Let's not be afraid of words, the Veni Vici is a race with 1000 faces: pine forests, villages, monuments, trails, forests... Here is a patchwork of what awaits you.
Run on an architectural masterpiece 🤩
The Pont du Gard will be the main attraction point of the race, and in other words, it is more than enough on its own. Built by the Romans to supply water to Nîmes and listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1985, it is the highest aqueduct bridge in the world and is still extremely well preserved. With its three rows of arches and its 2,000 years of existence, it is impressive and will be your preferred racing partner. And let's be honest... Trails that allow you to explore such a monument, there are not many in France (but also in Europe), hence its enormous success from the first edition! 🙌
A monumental but accessible event 🏃 ♂️
For a race that takes place around a mythical monument, you would think that only a handful of seasoned riders could come and set foot on Gard territory. But the distances that the organizers offer you are varied enough to satisfy all race levels and requirements ✨. From 14 to 82 km, you will inevitably find the right distance!
In the footsteps of history 🏛️
As you run, you will go back in time and be able to admire the heritage left to us by our ancestors. The Roman era with the Pont du Gard, the arenas of Nîmes or the Maison Carrée that you can admire in the city after your race. But also the Age of Enlightenment with your grandiose arrival in the Jardins de la Fontaine 🌳. Enough to stealthily plunge back into the royal era. A race rich in history, you said? 😉
