In addition to the mythical 42.195 km, a half-marathon and a 10 km are also offered to you. In all 3 cases, you will start on land and then finish your race in Venice. Regardless of the distance chosen, arriving on the ground in the Venetian capital the course is the same for everyone, and promised it is as fascinating as it is enchanting! It is the entire southern and western part of the city that you will have the chance to discover! And while this portion of your test will be really grandiose and spectacular, it will also be a bit tough! Indeed, you will have to cross 14 bridges that are not flat at all 😰. But the exceptional setting will give you the strength to move forward without giving up. The Church of Saint Mary of the Rosary, the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, the Royal Gardens, the Royal Gardens, Saint Mark's Square, the Palazzo Ducale, you will discover Venice like no one else, so you will have to savor these last kilometers. 🤗

🏃 ‍ ♀️ The Venice Marathon, in Venice but not only...

The Venice Marathon course is as fascinating as it is surprising. If you were thinking of running only on the cobbles of the Venetian capital, think again. Indeed, it is from Terra Ferma (dry land) that you will start. On your way, the Veneto region and its numerous 18th century homes will be discovered without shame as you walk. From Stra to Mestre, passing through Dolo, Mira, Mira, Oriago, Marghera and along the Brenta River, you will run nearly 30 km outside Venice. That is also the beauty of this event: discovering this magnificent Italian region rich in history, art and culture. 🇮🇹

😮 A dantasque organization

The Venice Marathon is an unmissable event in the Venetian capital. For 2 days, it invades the whole city, with (almost) as much fervour as the Carnival! For the occasion, an entire village (the Venice Marathon Expo Village) was built in the heart of Saint-Julien Park. Even crazier, a 170-meter metal footbridge was installed a few days before the start, just across the Grand Canal and dismantled the night after the events. It connects the Dorsoduro district to the Royal Gardens. And yes the organizers thought that there was not enough bridge on the course. 😉

During this event you will go for a run, sweat, breathe, but you will also be able to enjoy the Italian “Dolce Vita”. Eating Pasta al Nero di Seppia while sipping a Venetian spritz (to be consumed in moderation as always) with your feet “almost” in the water, it's pretty appealing, isn't it? 😎

🌡 An ideal climate for running

The month of October in Venice can offer you just as much a perfectly clear weather with a crystal-clear blue sky, as well as a fog to cut with a knife. But even in the rain or in the fog Venice keeps its crazy charm. In any case, it will be mild, since at this time of the year, the average temperature is 14°C. However, beware of the Acqua Alta phenomenon, which can flood the city during the autumn season, not because of rain but rather because of tides. 🌊
